We are seeking an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist with a minimum of 7 years of experience to join an Environment & Planning team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrogeological assessments, field data collection, and project management. This position offers the opportunity to work on a range of high-profile projects across Ireland, with a focus on environmental assessments and groundwater resource management. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from various office locations with the option of hybrid working.

Requirements:

  • MSc in Hydrogeology or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of Irish hydrogeology
  • Proven experience in fieldwork and data collection
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in GIS and other relevant software tools
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and environmental planning regulations
  • Ability to manage projects, including financial aspects such as fee proposals and budgeting
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Ireland
  • Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in hydrogeological fieldwork, including data collection, drilling supervision, and test pumping
  • Prepare sections of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), hydrogeological risk assessments, and groundwater resource evaluations
  • Oversee and manage hydrogeological projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
  • Contribute to desktop studies, field mapping, and reporting
  • Manage financial aspects of projects, including producing fee proposals and tender documents
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes
