Our client is thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Water Resources Engineer or Hydrologist to join their dynamic UK and Ireland Mine Water team. This is a full-time, permanent position based in one of their multiple offices across Ireland and the UK.
The UK and Irish Mine Water team boasts a rich mix of professionals specializing in surface water, groundwater, and geochemistry. With expertise ranging from recent graduates to seasoned experts with over 30 years of experience, this team offers a unique environment for professional growth. You'll have the chance to work on international projects, learn from colleagues with diverse technical backgrounds, and mentor junior team members. Our client supports every phase of the mining life cycle, from exploration and pre-feasibility to mine closure.
This role primarily focuses on the mining sector but also offers opportunities to collaborate with other sectors, including infrastructure and land development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage mining resources engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Technical Excellence: Develop and implement hydrologic and hydraulic models to support project objectives.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and hydrologists.
- Collaboration: Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and success.
- Communication: Prepare detailed reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory bodies.
- Field Work: Conduct field investigations and data collection for hydrological studies.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in water resources engineering.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in water resources engineering or hydrology.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE SHE).
- Project Management: Strong skills in managing multidisciplinary teams and projects.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Client Relations: Proven ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
