Sustainable Seafood Consultant 

RS Standards has an exciting opportunity for a seafood sustainability standards and supply chain assurance professional. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded consultant to join the management team of our dynamic international standards and consulting organisation. The role will involve servicing clients and projects opportunities in Ireland, UK, Europe, North and South America and Asia.

As part of this role the successful candidate will play a key project leadership role within the team, acting as the primary interface with designated clients on consultation projects of significant scale and will be reporting to the RS Standards Directors.  

Key responsibilities will include; client management services, project management, stakeholder engagement, interpretation and collation of sector information, together with standard innovation and design. 

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an accomplished understanding of fishery, aquaculture and seafood standards and sustainability themes, from catching to retail distribution (and a proven track record in the ability to assimilate and analyse new information diligently and prepare accurate reports for clients. 

This is an internationally focused role so travel will be required and the successful candidate may work from home. We are seeking someone preferably based in UK or Ireland but other locations would be considered.

The ideal candidate will have a creative and solutions focused aptitude, possess strong communication and presentation skills which will enable them to clearly present solutions to clients.
 
• Degree (in an environmental science related discipline)
• At least 5 years business development experience in similar environment
• Ability to work under own initiative and prioritize tasks.
• An understanding of Seafood and environmental Standards, assurance initiatives and accreditations
• An interest in global supply chain management and sustainability issues
• Proven network builder and strong client facing interaction
• High computer literacy not necessarily through formal training.
• Proven organisational and communication skills 
• Ability to drive and travel internationally
