Title: Acoustic Consultant

About the Role:

An established and growing planning and environmental consultancy is seeking an Acoustic Consultant to join its expanding acoustics team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of projects across Ireland, including environmental noise monitoring, impact assessment, acoustic modelling and reporting. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality noise assessments and compliance reports, while gaining exposure to complex, multi-disciplinary projects across sectors, including renewable energy. Travel to sites nationwide will be required, including occasional evening and night-time surveys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake environmental noise surveys across Ireland for compliance and impact assessment projects

  • Coordinate monitoring activities with site operators

  • Analyse monitoring data and extract relevant information

  • Prepare compliance reports and Noise Management Plans

  • Contribute to EIAR noise chapters, including predictive modelling and impact assessment

  • Prepare acoustic design statements (including use of ProPG where applicable)

  • Advise on building acoustic specifications

  • Manage projects from inception through to completion

  • Provide regular updates to the wider acoustics team

  • Ensure adherence to survey methodologies, reporting standards and impact assessment processes

About You:

Education

  • Third-level qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering, acoustics, or a related discipline

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience in a similar role

  • Experience in environmental noise monitoring and reporting (essential)

  • Knowledge of building acoustics (advantageous)

  • Strong understanding of environmental noise guidance and criteria applied in Ireland

  • Experience using sound level meters

  • Genuine interest in developing within the field of acoustics

  • Full clean driving licence
